Below are examples
of clients for whom we've facilitated Strategic Planning/Governance
advancement sessions.
SOS Children's Village of Florida:
For several years, Strategists, Inc. has worked with the board and executive
staff of SOS Children's Village of Florida to move the organization forward.
The organization was at a pivotal point in its development with significant,
new fund raising requirements and a possible change in mission. CEO Marjory
Bruszer says , "Debbie has been able to pull together the key ingredients
of a good plan for our agency. She has helped us craft efficient and content-filled
planning sessions, which have empowered our Board and staff to move forward...on
track and with confidence."
United Way of North Central Florida (formerly UW of Alachua County)
The United Way of North Central Florida was at a critical point in its life cycle. The organization had experienced modest increases in its annual fundraising each year. The organization craved a greater sense of the understanding from its donor base… why do they give and what did they think of the United Way as a leader in the community.
With a new CEO at the helm, the organization turned to Strategists, Inc. to provide many months of ongoing strategic counsel. Services included board development training, research and the facilitation of several Strategic Planning/Governance sessions.
Research services included the development, execution and analysis of quantitative and qualitative survey instruments gaining input from many different stakeholder groups.
United Way CEO Karen Bricklemyer said, “Debbie Mason was central in our recent Strategic Planning/Governance process providing our board with the opportunity to step back review history, success etc., as well as look forward. Debbie helped our board realize our organization was at a ‘tipping point’ and needed to change. With Debbie’s guidance our board has positioned this organization to create sustained change in our community."
Florida Dental Health Foundation, Inc.
Newly hired Development Director Tom Norman, JD, CFRE, wanted to implement
an effective planning process that engaged his board members in their fundraising
responsibilities as a board. The board members had been through several planning
sessions before Tom's arrival, but still were not engaged sufficiently to
implement those plans. SI's president led the board through a focused planning
session that resulted in enthusiastic participation by board members.
“Debbie Mason of Strategists Inc. knows how to move
a board from inaction to action. Her style translates question
marks into visions for even the most reticent board member.
In just one session she opened the door of possibilities
for my board and assisted us with a successful transition.
90% of our board members are now endowment donors to the
foundation.” Thomas E. Norman, JD, CFRE.
